Welcome to
Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery Park
Since 1895, this has been the final resting place for over 500 Union Veterans and their families.
These soldiers and their families came from far and wide, yet all shared the common experience of America's bloodiest conflict. They all made their way to Washington after the conclusion of the Civil War, and greatly influenced the still developing city of Seattle.
Before you is a fascinating hidden gem of both Seattle and America's history, and one of the most unique Civil War cemeteries in the country. Though this is no longer an active cemetery, an incredibly passionate community continues to care for it to this day.
Please explore with respect and enjoy this remarkable piece of history!
